Almost 100 Busted In National Parks Blitz
Monday, 09 July 2012 23:49

National Parks and Wildlife staff have  combined with Shoalhaven police blitzing parks and reserves around Nowra and Ulladulla  over the last month and issuing tickets for 93 offences

Parks Regional Manager Dianne Garood says  blitz was to ensure the natural environment is being protected and visitors are safe.

Offences included taking  dogs onto reserves, contaminating soil with motor cycle oil, and riding while disqualified

Areas covered have included Morton , Jerrawangala and Conjola Parks, Narrawallee Creek, Parma Creek, Worrigee Nature Reserve and The Colymea State Conservation Area

Shoalhaven Crime Manager Inspector Glen Broadhead says NSW police are highly supportive of NPWS and are particularly concerned by the high level of illegal motor cycle  riding.

Inspector Broadhead says Parks and Police will continue to maintain a presence  to combat the problem.
