An armed bandit was sent on his way empty handed last night by the father of one of the victims.

Just before 9 last night a man armed with a knife entered the Pizza Paradise takeaway in Sanctuary Point and demanded money.

The father of one of the workers at the store  then picked up a pizza spade, and after being threatened,  the would be bandit ran off towards Francis Ryan Reserve.

Police say no one was injured,  and no money taken.

The man officers are searching for is described as aboriginal in appearance, about 20 to 30 years of age, with a full face, close shaven beard.

When last seen,  he was wearing a black hooded jumper, with silver shapes on it.
