Shoalhaven Council and its waste disposal contractor SITA have promised to work with residents and business people to solve an problems stemming from the recent changes to the collection schedule.

Aside from letters being sent to the affected residents, there has been very little community consultation in relation to the changes

Almost a third of people have had their bin pick up day changed  in a bid to make the collection system more efficient.

The biggest problems have been  for some businesses in Ulladulla, where bins were having  to be put out on a Friday for collection early Monday, during which time they were being pushed over by vandals and dogs scavenging for food.

Director of City Services Bill Patterson says they are aware of the Ulladulla situation and SITA is trying to make alternative arrangements.
