A new state of the art orthopaedic clinic has been opened in Nowra.

The new clinic has been designed by Edmiston Jones for local surgeons Ian Davison and and David Cossetto, and built   by North Nowra contractors Batmac Constructions.

Located in Bridge Road, just south of the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, the new clinic will be used by the two surgeons, and visiting consultants, for pre and post operative consultations.

The official opening has been performed by former president of the Australian Medical Association Dr Bruce Shepherd , assisted by his Nowra based medico brother Colin.

The new clinic has cost around $1.5 million, although an additional million has been spent on the clean up of waste, which had escaped from the near by former council gas works.

Recovering the cost of the clean up is the subject of on going litigation between Doctors Davison and Cossetto, and Shoalhaven Council.

Dr Davison says he will continue to perform surgery at the Nowra Private Hospital, which he would eventually like to see re-locate to a new and larger site.
