Contractors have begun work on urgent repairs to the Bomaderry Ambulance Station after a series of embarrassing photographs were posted on the 2ST website.

The car park and driveways at the Bunberra Street Station was strewn with deep pot holes forcing ambulances on urgent calls to crawl out of the station at a snails pace.

Kiama MP Gareth Ward secured more than $20,000 for the area to be re-surfaced with hot mix, and work commenced yesterday.

Its the second time in the last two years the Health Department has been embarrassed into undertaking maintenance at the station, after dead trees had earlier  threatened to fall into the complex.

However staff say there is still plenty of work which needs to be done on the inside of the building.
