Power Off – Trees Down – Busy Weekend For SES
Monday, 18 June 2012 00:54

ses removing tree Gale force winds caused problems in the Shoalhaven over the weekend, cutting power and bringing a tree down on top of a house.

The large gum  tree came down on a house at North Nowra, and while it caused some damage, the biggest problem was cutting away and clearing the twisted mess.

Specially trained SES volunteers were called in to chainsaw  the tree into manageable pieces and make the area safe.

Wide spread power blackouts also hit parts of North Nowra, Cambewarra, Tapitallee and Bangalee about 8M  yesterday.

Most of the areas were without power for about two hours, while Endeavour Energy "call out"  crews carried out repairs.

The maximum wind gust the met station at HMAS Albatross was 54 KPH, which was recorded at 2 yesterday  afternoon.
