State Leaves Nowra In Limbo Over Bridge Funds - Gash

Shoalhaven River From North Nowra Gilmore MP  and Mayoral candidate Jo Gash says the state government's failure  to allocate funding to investigate the site for a third crossing of the Shoalhaven River has left Nowra Bomaderry in limbo.

About $5 million is required to investigate potential sites, examining  geological and hydrological issues and traffic flow.

 

Duncan Gay At South Nowra Duplication The original thinking was for a bridge to be built as a part of a western by pass of Nowra, but Roads Minister Duncan Gay says that could be thirty years away.

In more recent times consideration has been given to constructing a bridge closer to the two existing crossings.

Mrs Gash says even if council lent the state government the money to do the study it would give some certainty for future growth in Nowra Bomaderry
