New Nowra Car Park Could Take 200 Years To Pay Off
Monday, 11 June 2012 13:16

A meeting to be held  on Wednesday will be told a multi level car parking station in Nowra could take 200 years to pay off.

A council committee is this week expected to recommend design work be undertaken on a three level car park,  at the corner of Berry and Worrigee Streets.

With external cladding a 3 level car park is likely to cost almost $9 million, while a four level station would cost $11 million.

Council concedes at the current level of contributions from private developers, it would take two centuries to pay for the project.

Consideration is also being given to other short term works to provide some extra spaces.

Locations under consideration are at the corner of Worrigee Street and Burr Ave, Moss Street, Graham Street and Mc Grath Ave.
