LOCAL TEACHERS BACK TO WORK BUT FOR HOW LONG?

Thursday, 28 June 2012 06:40

teachers-strike Public school teachers in the UPPER HUNTER are back at work this morning, but have voted to take more strike action after walking off the job yesterday

Thousands of teachers across the state have attended stop work meetings after defying the Industrial Relations Commission by going on strike.

The Teachers Federation says it won't be bullied by the Government into accepting a policy to give principals more power over their own budgets.

Premier Barry O' Farrell had earlier told the Industrial Relations Commission to "pull its finger out" and take action against striking teachers.
