The CARC members recently celebrated their first year of operation with a fun dressage day at Candelo Showground. Members were encouraged to dress in theme for the day and a range of tests covering all levels were offered. Thank you to Wendy Croese who judged with Victoria Smith pencilling.

There were some great efforts with special mention to Robyn Limbrecht who rode an excellent test side saddle. I am sure we can all understand why this style of riding for ladies has lost popularity over the years!

Jenny Stock chose a Freestyle theme for Karizmah Hollywood. Taking the inspiration from her horses name they rode to a compilation of “Hooray for Hollywood” and “Hollywood” by Madonna.

Many riders undertook their first ever test and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Thank you to Penny Malone’s generosity there were some excellent prizes awarded to competitors on the day.

During the club’s first year there have been training days covering Campdrafting, Show Riding, Horsemanship, Western Trail, Dressage, Quadrilles, Showjumping, Cross Country, Float Loading as well as members enjoying a number of camp over’s at the very picturesque Kameruka Estate with Trail Riding and a very competitive Navigational Ride.

The club offers a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere for adult equine enthusiasts to come together and enjoy all the various disciplines in a supportive environment. It is a great opportunity to enjoy a relaxed outing with a more experience horse or for a nervous rider or young horse to gain experience and confidence.

Members come from as far afield as Cobargo, Bemboka, Bega, Tura Beach, Merimbula, Pambula as well as the Candelo area. New members are always welcome.

The club’s next outing will cover sporting events, jumping and dressage.
