There are bargains to be had in the tech war focussed around the New iPAD3.

www.macpricesaustralia.com.au lists a 16gb WiFi iPAD3 at just $498.00 from BigW. You can get iPAD2’s at the same place for around $398 starting with the 16GB WiFi only models.

Are you considering buying one? Now maybe a great time to get in on the deals. I did. I got one for my partner for Mothers Day. Setup to operate off her iPhone HotSpot, it works a treat. iPhone used for phoning and texting and iPad used for Web cruising. Lots of Googling going on in our house about all sorts of things, and all in glorious Apple’s Resolutionary colour thanks to the upgraded resolution of the iPAD3 display window.

What sort of iPAD3 do you need? Well, thats the 64 thousand dollar question. Do you own an iPhone? If you do, it can make you’re purchase cheaper as you can tether your iPAD3 to your iPHONE by using the HotSpot function in your iPHONE as I did. Of course this then means you don’t need the 3G upgrade on the iPAD3 saving you some money. You get free WiFi in heaps of places around your local area such as McDonalds and some local councils, shopping centres etc. Your Tourism Info centre will have details, or look online.

Then there’s the only other question of storage on the iPAD3. 16, 32 or 64 Gb. This will be used for your photo’s, files and music. Think about your storage requirements carefully, as the iPAD prices for all the range will increase significantly as the storage number you select gets bigger. Surf online and see if your device is compatible with the iPAD. There is a beaut camera card reader that has a USB port in it that will allow many devices to input into the iPAD. Its available from popular electronics stores as well as Apple outlets for around $30-$40. There are some compatibility issues so research your particular device before making your decision, however if you are able to use your existing storage it may be larger than the iPAD model you are considering and will save you money. You could even use better compression methods on your files and save in playlists to dowload only part of your library to the iPAD you choose. Whatever you do, it will only be restricted by you’re imagination and budget.
