Parents Warned Not To Give Medicine to Kids Under 6

Parents are being told not to give cough and cold medicines to children under six years of age.

A review by the Therapeutic Goods Administration has found while there's no immediate safety risks, there is evidence that may cause harm to children.

The labels on cough syrup and cold medicines will be phased in over the coming months.

A spokesman from Therapeutic Goods Administration said until there was no point taking any unnecessary risks until the drugs are scientifically cleared.
