Mayor Relieved Super Bill is Paid

Ballarat Mayor Mark Harris is relieved Ballarat City Council is paying its hefty ‘super’ bill off early.

Other regional councils hit with the bills are still going through their options with councils in the Bendigo region banding together to fight the bill.

Ballarat Mayor Mark Harris said Ballarat would have faced interest rate charges of 1500 dollars a day if it didn't pay the bill on time.

Mr Harris said the bill had to be paid and called on other councils to pay it off as soon as possible.
